A new steakhouse, Prime on the Avenue, is now open for business in the center of Morton Borough, writes Peg DeGrassa for the Delaware County News Network.
Located at 13 South Morton Avenue, the restaurant opened Jan. 12 and offers prime rib, prime steaks, and prime seafood in a relaxed, family atmosphere. It’s next door to The Crab Shack, which opened Dec. 1.
The restaurants are owned by Springfield residents Jolly Weldon and Amy Tommarelli, in partnership with Eve and George Dougherty, the former owners of A Taste of Key West and Latitudes, the two restaurants that previously occupied the same buildings. Other restaurants at the twin-location were Green’s, Rosario’s, Jolly’s, the Tap Room, and Amici. The properties are owned by Evan Prochniak.
Prime on the Avenue and The Crab Shack plan to combine their expertise, friendly service, and popular menus and offer a banquet facility. Prime on the Avenue has a banquet room that can hold up to 180 people for all kinds of celebrations and occasions.
